Our mission in teaching
Our teaching aims to qualify students professionally and interdisciplinary. Students should become academically educated, reflective, and self-confident individuals who can take on leadership positions in local and global organizations and shape the digital transformation of individuals, organizations, and society.
Our teaching activities focus on different aspects in the area of digital transformation, where we provide courses from a business process and project management perspective. These include, e.g., classes on process mining and automation or agile project management.
Our teaching extends to Bachelor, Master, and PhD levels and is usually designed highly interactive. We employ elements of flipped classrooms, we rely on blended learning, and we use case studies as well as research papers to supplement the core contents.
Rules of scientific discussions & presentations
The objective of seminars in general, and scientific discourse in particular, is to learn from one another and to appreciate the discourse as an essential instrument.
In terms of conducting successful discourses, it is pivotal to have all participants actively contribute to the discussion. Therewith, multiple different perspectives and opinions are documented. This pluralistic view on the subject area of Information Systems & Transformation Management reflects the concept of scientific culture.
Mutual respect and appreciation are crucial to accomplish this; the use of a smartphone while listening to a presentation of a fellow student would not support it. Furthermore, given constraints such as time restrictions should be kept in mind due to reasons of fairness.
